Wat Ek Phnom
Wat Ek Phnom is a 10th century temple about 25km out of Battambang.
Not nearly as impressive as any of the temples at Angkor Wat, it nevertheless commands a nice view of the countryside, and the trip out of Battambang is scenic, as you pass by waterways and villages.
Getting to Battambang
Roads are dicey and the train is extraordinarily slow, so we recommend taking a plane from Phnom Penh. You can also fly from Siem Reap, or take the scenic boat ride.
